Pre Week 4 Polls
Week 4 Opponents

Because of some of the upsets in week 3, there are quite a few changes in the polls this week. Not in the top five, but, with former #6 Georgia losing, there are changes from there on down. (I do not understand the CBSSports.com rankings, however. How could Georgia go UP in the poll after losing to South Carolina?

You can expect some movement in next week’s polls too. There are two games pitting ranked teams against one another (#1 Florida State vs #22 Clemson, #5 Auburn vs #19 Kansas State). Several teams begin their conference game schedule while there are also a lot of teams that have this weekend off as they prep for conference games.

(Ranks on the left are those of the AP/Coaches Top 25/CBSSPORTS.COM 128 Polls as reported by CBSSports.com. NR = Not Ranked)

1/1/3 Florida State (2-0) The Seminoles will host the #22 Clemson Tigers (1-1). FSU at home will win this one.

2/3/1 Oregon (3-0) The Ducks will hit the road to face the Washington State Cougars (1-2). Ducks will over power the Cougars.

3/2/4 Alabama (3-0) The Crimson Tide plays host to the Florida Gators (2-0). Tide continues to roll.

4/4/6 Oklahoma (3-0) The Sooners head east to face the West Virginia Mountaineers (2-1). Sooners will win on the road but it might be tougher than expected.

5/5/5 Auburn (2-0) The Tigers will head west to face the #19 Kansas State Wildcats (2-0) on Thursday night. Tigers are primed for an upset…if the Wildcats can avoid mistakes.

6/7/7 Texas A&M (3-0) The Aggies are on the road to face the SMU Mustangs (0-2). Aggies and it won’t be close.

7/6/9 Baylor (3-0) The Bears have the weekend off.

8/8/11 LSU (3-0) The Tigers will host the Mississippi State Bulldogs (3-0). Tough game but the Tigers win a close one.

9/9/10 Notre Dame (3-0) The Fighting Irish are idle this weekend.

10/12/16 Ole Miss (3-0) The Rebels take the weekend off.

11/11/14 Michigan State (1-1) The Spartans will host the Eagles of Eastern Michigan (1-2). Michigan State will ground the Eagles.

12/10/13 UCLA (3-0) The Bruins are idle this weekend.

13/14/2 Georgia (1-1) The Bulldogs will host the Troy Trojans (0-3). Run, run, and run some more. That’s Georgia’s plan and you might add score, score, and score.

14/16/22 South Carolina (2-1) The Gamecocks hit the road to face the Vanderbilt Commodores (1-2).Gamecocks win big.

15/13/18 Arizona State (3-0) The Sun Devils will be idle this week.

16/15/15 Stanford (2-1) The Cardinal will not be playing this weekend.

17/21/8 Southern California (2-1) The Trojans are also idle this weekend.

18/19/NR Missouri (3-0) The Tigers will host the Indiana Hoosiers (1-1). Missouri wins.

19/17/NR Wisconsin (1-1) The Badgers will host the Bowling Green Falcons (2-1). Badgers will romp.

20/20/17 Kansas State (2-0) The Wildcats will be hosting the #5 Auburn Tigers (2-0) on Thursday night. The Wildcats could pull off an upset at home, but they need to make no mistakes.

21/23/20 Brigham Young (3-0) The Cougars will host the Virginia Cavaliers (2-1). Cougars will win at home.

22/24/21 Clemson (1-1) The Tigers will head south to face the #1 Florida State Seminoles (2-0). Seminoles will beat the Tigers.

23/18/23 Ohio State (2-1) The Buckeyes have this weekend off.

24/22/24 Nebraska (2-0) The Cornhuskers will host the Miami Hurricanes (2-1). Nebraska has had a close call and a rout. Miami is still undefined. Close game but go with the Cornhuskers.

25/NR/NR Oklahoma State (2-1) The Cowboys will have the weekend off.

NR/25/NR North Carolina (2-0) The Tar Heels are on the road to face the East Carolina Pirates (2-1). The Tar Heels may get surprised by the feisty Pirates.

NR/NR/12 Virginia Tech (2-1) The Hokies will host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (3-0). Which Hokie team will show up? That’s the question. If it’s the one that beat Ohio State. They might pull this one out. If the other team shows up….Yellow Jackets win.

NR/NR/19 Louisville (2-1) The Cardinals head to Florida to face the Florida International University Golden Panthers (1-2). Louisville lost last week. They won’t lose this week.

NR/NR/25 Marshall (3-0) The Thundering Herd are on the road to play the Akron Zips (1-1). Stampede!

My Rutgers Scarlet Knights (2-1) will head down to Annapolis to face the Navy Midshipmen (2-1). Navy can run the ball so the question in this one is can Rutgers stop the run? And can RU avoid making mistakes? I’m rooting for Rutgers.
