College Football: Preweek 7 Polls
and Week 7 Opponents

Lots of changes in the rankings this week and that’s to be expected after 11 of the top 25 lost last weekend. There aren’t as many opportunities for that kind of shake-up this week, but there are a few games pairing up ranked teams. For one, there’s #2 Auburn against #3 Mississippi State. Then we have #5 Baylor vs #9 TCU, #12 Oregon vs #18 UCLA, and #13 Georgia vs #23 Missouri.

Only one thing is sure: there will be fewer undefeated teams on Monday.

Ranks on the left are those of the AP/Coaches Top 25/CBSSPORTS.COM 128 Polls as reported by CBSSports.com. NR = Not Ranked)

1/1/2 Florida State (5-0) The Seminoles will head north to play the Syracuse Orange (2-3). Seminoles

2/2/1 Auburn (5-0) The Tigers will play on the road facing the #3 Mississippi State Bulldogs (5-0). Tigers over Bulldogs.

3T/4/3 Ole Miss (5-0) The Rebels head west to play the #14 Texas A&M Aggies (5-1). Rebels win.

3T/6/4 Mississippi State (5-0) The Bulldogs host the #2 Auburn Tigers (5-0). Tigers.

5/3/5 Baylor (5-0) The Bears will host the #9 TCU Horned Frogs (4-0). Baylor knocks off the Frogs.

6/5/6 Notre Dame (5-0) The Fighting Irish host the North Carolina Tarheels (2-3). Irish.

7/7/8 Alabama (4-1) The Crimson Tide are on the road playing the Arkansas Razorbacks (3-2). Alabama has quite a few injuries. This week will be a test of their depth. Should be a real close game. Pick 'em.

8/8/9 Michigan State (4-1) The Spartans travel on the road to play the Purdue Boilermakers (3-3). Michigan State wins on the road.

9/12/10 TCU (4-0) The Horned Frogs will be on the road facing the #5 Baylor Bears (5-0). Frogs lose this one.

10/13/7 Arizona (5-0) The Wildcats host the USC Trojans (3-2). The Wildcats win.

11/9/13 Oklahoma (5-1) The Sooners will play host to the Texas Longhorns (2-3). Sooners win big.

12/11/11 Oregon (4-1) The Ducks will go south to play the #18 UCLA Bruins (4-1). The Ducks still have the talent, but the Bruins may have learned a few things from last week's films. Should be a real close game. Don't look for the high scores Oregon usually posts. Pick 'em.

13/10/14 Georgia (4-1) The Bulldogs will be on the road to play the #23 Missouri Tigers (4-1). The Bulldogs win this one.

14/14/12 Texas A&M (5-1) The Aggies host the #3 Ole Miss Rebels (5-0). Rebels.

15/15/16 Ohio State (4-1) The Buckeyes have this weekend off.

16/18/17 Oklahoma State (4-1) The Cowboys are on the road to play the Kansas Jayhawks (2-3). Oklahoma enjoys this trip.

17/16/15 Kansas State (4-1) The Wildcats will be idle this week.

18/17/21 UCLA (4-1) The Bruins will host the #12 Oregon Ducks (4-1). Pick 'em.

19/19/19 East Carolina (4-1) The Pirates head south to play the South Florida Bulls (2-3). Pirates feel right at home in Florida.

20/20/NR Arizona State (4-1) The Sun Devils will be sitting at home this week.

21/21/20 Nebraska (5-1) The Cornhuskers will also be idle this week.

22/23/18 Georgia Tech (5-0) The Yellow Jackets will be hosting the Duke Blue Devils (4-1). Close game but the Yellow Jackets win.

23/24/25 Missouri (4-1) The Tigers will host the #13 Georgia Bulldogs (4-1). Bulldogs.

24/NR/24 Utah (4-1) The Utes will be resting at home this weekend.

25/22/NR Stanford (3-2) The Cardinal will host the Washington State Cougars (2-4). The Cougars will put up some numbers but they need to play defense to beat the Cardinal. I think they may just pull off the upset.

NR/25/23 Clemson (3-2) The Tigers will host the Louisville Cardinals (5-1). The Cardinals looked pretty shaky last week. Clemson should pull this one out.

NR/NR/22 Marshall (5-0) The Thundering Herd will host the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders (4-2). The Herd remains undefeated.

My Rutgers Scarlet Knights (5-1) will be enjoying a weekend off as they prep for their first Big Ten road game …against #15 Ohio State (4-1) next weekend.
